The Hamattan has weakened since
this weekend! Oh man! What a blessing! my companion has really been suffering from all
of this dust and pollen and whatnot in the air. We were forced to stay in for
most of Friday because he fell ill with a pretty sever cold/ migrane. Last
night while walking home we could even see some stars in the sky, life is good!
so we are feeling much better and looking forward to a much smoother week :)
We were blessed with a baptism
yesterday! my first in months! woot! Sister felicia made it to church and
survived the baptism despite her deadly fear of submersing under water. Life is
good!
Most of the people we are
teaching are new investigators. We spend the majority of our days teaching 5-
15 minute lessons with people we meet for the first time. It makes for some
nice chats. we teach while people wash or cook or do some other activity in their
front yard, trying not to take too much of their time without an appointment.
It makes for nice key indicators but sometimes feels very... well, useless. So
many of the people we teach are happy to give us a seat but to actually listen
and test what we say is another story. But fear not, we are still finding the
elect! :)
We had a zone training meeting
this tuesday which was enjoyable. I think I did OK at sharing a few of my
thoughts to inspire the zone. We discussed the importance of reaching higher
and setting goals that require faith. My instruction was "what are we
asking the Lord for?". It was nice! we set some nice goals and had some
wonderful discussion how we can improve.
I have also been preparing for
a zone activity for feb 2nd. We are planning on some water balloon volleyball,
3 legged races, food eating contests, and a BOM scripture mastery spelling bee.
President is working on finding a panel of judges and whatnot to help us. I've
also found a cool wood carving/ desk ornament of the BOM that i've put up as
the prize for the final winner. The sisters are the most excited for the
activity... its their time to show up the Elders! haha I am enjoying the
excitement and scripture memorizing that has been going on. Should be fun!
This week will be full of proselyting and exchanges.
Should be a fun one! cant wait for it!
love you all, have a great week!
