Dear family and friends,
what a great week this one has
been. It has been one full of work! last week, our mission was the first
mission worldwide (ever) to have more member present lessons than other
lessons! it was awesome! i was so excited and proud of our district for pulling
our weight and i believe we pushed us over that edge that we had been at so
many times. Liberia is a stinkin sweet mission, the best in the world according
to me.
time is pretty short today,
sorry for that. Ill share an experience that brought me a lot of joy this
week.
We were at the pot making shop with
O., teaching his buddy M., when a fight broke out between two young
guys over some money business. The entire community rushes in to come watch, no
one wanting to do anything but encourage the entertainment. I watched in
admiration as both O. (our recent convert) and M. (investigator)
handled themselves in complete maturity and had so much authority when they
stepped in to break up the fight (although the fight eventually continued, just
around the corner). I was impressed particularly with O. and the way he
carried himself. I dont know why, but in that instance he just radiated with
the spirit. He literally beamed in my eyes as one who once was involved in this
sort of filth and course behavior, but now had changed into a servant of God.
When the missionaries first contacted O., he was wasted drunk, Now, not a
swear word escapes his lips, no vulgar joke comes from his mouth and all the
children in the yard love him and his gentle hand. He is a changed man!
I simply looked on and realized
all the good that had entered his life, and that i was the messenger of that
good. It dawned on me the impact of my message and i was so happy to see the
end result of my labors in my recent convert, O.. Ah, it brought me so
much joy :)
times up, but that was my
wonderful experience of the week :) take care, till next time!
