Happy New Year!!

Guys, guess what. in about two days i can say "see ya'll NEXT YEAR!" haha i found that a bit amusing :)
The week has been great. Electricity every night this week! Thats definitely been a blessing to sleep with fans, not being drenched in sweat from the heat. Christmas was better than i could have ever hoped for. and the best part is that i dont even have all my presents! they're all in the mail, so ill get to have TWO Chirstmas's (counting the day i get my packeges as #2).
Got transfer news this week and im deeply saddened to report that im loosing my best buddy, Elder Pearmain. He is going off to town to be a zone leader there while i am recieving Elder Conners. I will also becoming the District Leader over New Kru Town. Yep, thats all the exciting news! my apartment stayed the same other than that!
I cannot wait for this coming saturday, we are baptizing one of the greatest Men i have met here in Liberia. His name is P., 20 years old, footballer, stud of a guy. I mean, he is stinkin terrific! i love the man so much. Whats great about him is that he just started coming to church one day because someone invited him, and then just kept coming! the missionaries before me tried so hard to have a lesson with him, but he was never home and had no phone therefore, no way to be contacted to schedule an appointment! regardless, he just kept coming to church! When i came to the area, we tracked this dude down and have been able to teach him all the lessons over the past month. Its been difficult, because we go to his house every day at least once, and hes only there 10% of the time so actually HAVNG a lesson is the difficult part because he doesnt do good with time and appointments... haha but seriously, when we actually HAVE a lesson, it makes your mission worth it. I mean, you lie down at night just in awe at this kids integrity and intuitivness of the gospel. He knows it already! its stinkin sweet.
I particularly enjoyed teaching him the Word of Wisdom. He is a footballer, a pretty good lookin guy and very popular. He was telling us how he would be at parties and would have to refuse drugs (like hard drugs, opium, coccaain ect...) and some of his excuses just cracked me up. My favorite was "sorry dude, i smoked 3 of those before i came..." haha oh boy :) and, just for your information, he stopped hanging out with all of those friends and parties a long time ago, because he decided they weren't a good influence and were holding him back. hes a stud.
well, life is good. Cant wait to share more with ya'll next week!
