Yello my friends!

All is well here in Liberia. I must admit that i was a bit disheartened as we passed through conference weekend without getting to hear the talks like i usually get to. it really made me grateful for all the millions of blessings and luxuries we enjoy back at home! :) we will get to read them when the Liahona gets to Liberia next month (i hope). haha thanks mom for your thoughts and small summaries!

The Lord definitely made up for it with the most spiritual sacrament meeting i've had in Liberia. I must say that Liberia and the church members here are beginning to win my heart. getting to watch them bear their testimonies and to hear relevant faith building stories of my friends really touched me this sunday. I love the Breweville Branch. that was the most spiritual experience of this week. we also switched to morning service, 9 as opposed to 12. so we had a beautiful sun filled morning, getting to see many investigators at church, and hearing so many great testimonies. it was perfect! the generator wasnt too loud in the background, the makeshift jukebox speakers were working so you could actually hear the speaker! ah, i enjoyed it. haha by the end of sacrament meeting, the beautiful sunshine left and it was raining, but thats the best part of liberia. one minute, its absolutely wonderful- the next- pouring rain. haha

Last Monday, we celebrated Nigerian Independence. it was pretty fun, all the nigerians (and their companions) bought food, went to the beach and enjoyed ourselves. it was sweet! we also brought a drum and i enjoyed some nigerian/ african dancing. haha im tribal now!

i had ice cream last monday too. more of a sherbet something, but wow. i almost peed my pants it tasted so good!!

We are working hard and look forward to see many of our new investigators enter into the waters of baptism this month and many in the coming months as they humbly and faithfully work on marriages. There is one particular family of Joyce, Marbee, Grace and Cecelia who we hope to baptize on the 19th of october. they are all so wonderful and interested in following Christ. sister cecelia is maybe 45 and is so spiritual. she has shared so very amazing dreams shes recently been having that simply amaze me! this week, she described that she came across an 'orange' tree whose fruit was just amazingly ripe! she said she gathered as many as she could and then was stuffing them in her clothes to go and share them with her family and friends. she couldnt figure out what it meant, but we were pretty confident we know what the 'orange' tree was :) wow, it was really a wonderful experience opening up the book of mormon and describing to her that the prophet Lehi also had a similar dream. she cannot read, but she is really gaining a testimony of the BOM. the work is sweet!

so many people have their prayers answered through dreams here. that is how they believe God answers prayers, and many times that is how He does here! its been fun hearing relevant, and some less relevant dreams now and again :)

well my friends, take care this week. ponder on what you learned in conference and share it with me yeah? haha all is well here. as we were riding here today, i was simply reminded how rough life is here for liberians. ah man, they dont always have it easy. we missionaries have it easy. and just every day life is tough for them. i hope that we each remember to look for the Lords hand in our lives, and recognize His many, many, many blessings. we have so much, and we have been given so much in America. i hope that we recognize that, and that we use those wonderful blessings in a way that is pleasing to Him. He's given us so much for a reason, my prayer is that we use it for that reason!

so remember, we are all beggars before God. i loved reading mosiah 4 this morning, and would invite you all to read that chapter this week with the thought that we are all beggars, and we should give and forgive selflessly. :)
