Dear Family and Friends!
i am somewhat disappointed as i
begin this email because i had a whole 40 minutes to write ya'll after emailing
president, submitting numbers and writing a few of my other buddies, and then the
power went out.... so now i dont have much time. none the less, i count my
blessings :) haha
I am alive and well all the way
over here in Liberia! :) thank you for your prayers and thoughts, i always
appreciate them:) Mom, i got a package this week! ah it was very wonderful! :)
thank you so much! only a few things were missing and im really enjoying my
fiber tablets and in turn, my BM's... :) TMI, I know but thank you!!
i am sad that we wont be able
to watch conference this weekend... but im really excited for the Liahona that
will likely come sometime late November with all the talks in it! its not the
same as listening to them, but i sure am looking forward to their messages! be
sure that you take advantage of the opportunity we have to listen to our modern
prophets and apostles! :)
we received transfers this
week, and i will be staying in Brewerville with Elder Udotim! its great, we get
along well and i love the area! i hope to stay in this branch for a while :) at
the end of transfers i was sad to see Elder Smith go home, but it was such a
blast to serve with a strong dying missionary as well. it has really been a
great transfer!
This week i was really touched
by the First Presidency message, "Saints for all Seasons". It is
really such a nice message and reminder to remain steadfast and strong no
matter whats happening! :) Of course there will be bright and sunny days, but
when the days of rain and gloom come, we dont need to despair. there is not
only a light at the end of the tunnel, the light is what carries us through the
tunnel! so let each of us remember that wonderful message. if today is a sunny
day, fill up your reservoir. and if its a gloomy one, rely on that reservoir
and the constant light that comes from the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There is no
greater peace that we can achieve than from the gospel! no amount of worldly
possessions can bring us the peace and comfort, in any stage of life, than the
gospel can bring us. I know this because i have taught and helped people who
literally have nothing. they dont know whether they will have food to eat the
next day, yet they are happy and joyful and have no need to fear, for their
trust is in the Lord!
I have learned so many things
from this mission, and that is one that i am still trying to implement more
fully. Trusting in the Lord. not worrying about tomorrow, what i will eat or
wear or where i will sleep, but simply knowing that the Lord will provide.
Seeing this example from faithful Church members who literally do not know
where they will sleep or where their next meal will come from has been such a
testimony builder to me.
So let us, who have so much and
have been blessed with so much increase our own faith is my invitation.
