What ting de happen?

yalloo America!
haha so before i begin, i once said "whats in the apple" means whats up right? well, thats what my friend in the mtc said. but really its "what ting de happen?" just really fast. basically pronouncing the same thing, but now that i know the words, it makes more sense... haha
ANYWAYS! life is great :) im happy, healthy, safe, and... not dry. kinda wet today on the bike ride here. haha but im awwwrighh as they would say here :)
I GOT A LETTER  FROM THE FAMILY THIS WEEK!!!!! WHOOOPPPIE!!! :) haha oh man, i was so excited!!! i read it right away, i couldnt wait :) it was sent aug 20 from katy texas :) ALSO, mom, your dearelder made it to me!!! woot! haha  dear elders seem to always get here. so THANK YOU!!! that really made my day :) woop! life is grreaaaatttt this week!!!!!
Man, the time flew by somehow this week. i really enjoyed it. we started off well by making a batch of no-bake cookies last monday evening- holy cow. oats have never tasted so wonderful in my life. i savored every bite. like each and every bite of cookie was like heaven in my mouth. yeah, unfortunately the sugar gives my stomach a hard time, but man. its worth it. Elder Smith and i are making a tradition of it. well, continuing elder Pentreth's tradition of making no-bakes each week.
Tuesday we had zone conference which was very inspiring. we learned much and were edified by the spirit. i really enjoyed it. everything i learned kinda applies to the field and the work here, but its written in my journal if anyone is REALLY interested. haha
i really enjoyed reading from Luke 9:26 this week and wanted to share it with you all. The scripture talks about how important it is that we each stand as witnesses of Christ! dont be ashamed of His gospel, of His Church, of the standards He has blessed us with. We, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, are blessed so very much.  We know so much! and we are different. How? Ask the missionaries! haha but i hope that the people around us can also see how different we are through our examples. Are we living our lives in harmony with the gospel? are we living as Christ taught? sure, we all have pitfalls and make mistakes, but each one of us can be , and should be, examples of Him. Every member a missionary.
Let us not be ashamed of Him, for at the last day, we do not want Him to be ashamed of us. Let us be on His right hand, let us be His sheep. And let us, in these last days, bring more of our beloved brothers and sisters into that fold.
I know that Christ Lives. This IS His kingdom on earth. Today is the day to prepare for the time that we will meet Him again. none of us knows when we will be called back, out of this life. Let TODAY be the day that we change our lives and follow His teachings. This is the message i teach here in Liberia, and so many people accept it. It is truly wonderful :)
life is good! :) and i try to make each and every day better :)till next week,

elder fairwell
