G'day mates!
This week has come and gone so quickly! i love the saying, each day seems to take an eternity to pass by, but the weeks and months fly by! its great!
Wonderful news this week!!! WE
HAVE L.E.C.!!!! aka, we have electricity! (liberian electric company). it is so
sweet to have electricity. i must say that the thing that really gives me joy
is to be able to close the windows and hush the loud honking and blaring of
horns that continue all day and night. it is so loud in our apartment because
the street outside is main street, and is SO LOUD. now, we have fans that
circulate the air and so we can close the windows and enjoy the Still Small
Voice. boy, something as simple as quietness is such a blessing :) and not going to lie, its pretty luxurious to study in the morning with a small fan drying the sweat off you :)
we also now have running faucets
all the time which is sweet. cant shower with it because the water is toxic and
ya gotta put smelly disinfectant in it, but still! we have running water! haha
OK BIG thing to correct. i
believe i said the area was like Destin FL as some point. What i meant to say
was that the WEATHER is like that of Destin. ha... the beach is not like
destin... anyway, glad i could clear that up :)
I GOT MAIL this week :) Dear
Elders from Bethsy, Kirstie, Mom and Ashley & Clark! thank you! they are
all dated the beginning of June, but it was sweet to get mail :) even if it was
supposed to get to me in the MTC! haha thank you for the emails this week family,
but due to the length i will simply print them out and read them at home so i
dont run out of time. thank you! i love them! and the pics are wonderful you
sent in the email mom, thanks! btw, what is scott driving? looks cool. and ry,
you keep up the football practice!
lets see, this week i was able
to go on my first exchange!! it was so wonderful, i loved it very much! man, it
was so sweet to be with him and to teach some powerful lessons. I get to go
with my District Leader, Elder Elliot this week and im looking forward to it
very much. I learn so much from my peers!
also, i must report that i
killed a mouse this week. he has been eating my food and getting into my
stuff for a while now! i spotted him and chased him around the apartment for
about 5 minutes, finally kicking him as he scurried out from the corner, across
the room into the wall. BAM. killed him. pretty exciting :)
my thoughts this week are to
know that we never are alone. we never have to walk in darkness. Christ is
always with us. If we open our hearts to Him, even the darkest nights will not
be endured alone. Because He descended beneath all things, we have no need to
feel no one understands. I love president uchtdorf's talk from this past
conference and would recommend it to anyone who feels that they are surrounded
by heartache and trial.
I am so grateful for our
apostles and prophets. they truly lead the way for us in these last days. if we
want to be happy, if we want answers to our questions, we need to follow their
counsel. i invite ya'll to find time to study, or listen, to the conference
talks given to us from inspired men and women. they will lead the way for us.
take time to set goals for the
things we study. if we decide we need to improve, set a goal to determine HOW
we will improve. :) The Church is True. i know it. there is no doubt in my mind
that Christ stands at the head of it. for this reason i am giving my life to
serve and bring others unto Him. take care my friends :)

p.s. mom the scripture you asked for is d&c 84:88
