The "Bush"

dearest family and friends,
what can i say about this week other than i feel so blessed! my new area is all that i could ever ask for! holy cow, it is a missionaries paradise! haha like i said, it is like the "bush", but think of it more of like the "country". thats what i feel like it is, just maybe 60 years behind america. haha at least in the sense that people have legit homes and all that they lack is electricity and running water! man, i cannot tell you what a blessing it has been to actually teach a lesson inside a home! sure, it was darkish and we were sitting in lawn chairs, but we were inside a home! i took my boots off! and there were drapes and even creepy stuffed dolls sitting on a bookshelf! ah, my new area is wonderful! it is very big though, and we will be doing a LOT of walking from what i can see. the homes are spaced far apart and investigators are a bit less in number, but its still sweet! Baptisms are less in this area, but retention is better and we focus a bit more on less actives! i love it so much.
my branch is so very strong! compared to point four, i am so excited to serve with these people! we had about 90 something people at sacrament meeting! in point 4 we had maybe 25 not fully committed people. not trying to be rude, im just trying to emphasize the reason for my excitement :)
it has been kind of difficult changing areas. new area, new investigators, new members, new companion, new apartment and whatnot, its just like moving! but i know i just need to be patient and within the next few weeks ill be adjusted. like i said, there is so much potential in my new area!
well, outta time this week. thank you lauren for your letter! it was nice to hear from you! take care, do some good damage to the world my friends!
til next week,
elder fairwell
